Ive started experimenting with using tar as paint. My first attempt is below, its almost done.
Its definitely an interesting medium to use and pretty stinky before it dries.
Also, we have been asked to make some paintings for an upscale furniture store called voltage.

We should be bringing some work there next week, we will let you know when so you can go check it out.

i got this scripture today in an email and it really hit me:
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:8-9
god is so patient and so infinite in his unconditional love for us. he desperately wants ALL of us (no matter what we’ve ever thought or done in our lives) to come home to him, to rest in him, and be his beloved. the wonderful thing is that he wants to give us a taste of that home here and now, heaven on earth working itself out in our everyday lives. a daily surrender to trusting that he’s with us no matter what, that he will take care of us even in the most difficult situations. and like a gentleman, he will wait for us until we are ready to surrender to him, his timing is always perfect.
how amazing is that!

We are back!
We have returned from a much needed vacation and are ready to get busy making some new art! Being out in nature really got our ideas and creative juices flowing. Sometimes it takes getting away from everything, no cell phone, no computer, no tv, nothing, to really appreciate silence. Just cooking for yourslef every night and sitting under the stars with a nice glass of wine. No where to go and no obligations, its a wonderful feeling!
Here are some pics from our trip. They dont do being there much justice, but its something;)
Also, check out our previous post for onights happenings. There is a lot to do tonight.

Thank you!:)
I just read Neysa Ruhls new blog about us and I am blushing. She said such nice things about the two of us. I feel like I would say the same things about her. She is definitely a light and inspiration to be around. Check out her blog here http://neysaruhlblog.blogspot.com/
One of the best things that I just can’t get over, is how many wonderful people Alison and I have met since we went on this journey of self-employment. It feels like we have been drawn to them or something. Just today we had lunch with another wonderful person and photographer, Stephanie Carson. Another person that just has such a warm feeling when your around her. She has freely given us such wealth of knowledge and wisdom. We wouldn’t even have a blog if she hadn’t put the bug in my ear to do so! It’s exciting to know that such good people could potentially turn into life long friends.
I just want to write this and thank all the people we have come across in the past few months. You have given us so much inspiration and we really feel like many of you will be good friends with us for a long time to come. We look forward to it!
Please check out our links section (or click below) to see some other wonderful artists, who just happen to photograph weddings:)

Every Tuesday!
every tuesday, there is a wonderful farmer’s market in the town square nelson sayler memorial park.
it’s located in the village of sayler park, (at the southwest corner of cincinnati, ohio) between gracely drive and parkland avenue.
from 4-7pm, local farmers and vendors sell farm-fresh and organic foods including honey, eggs, breads, lettuce, green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, onions, berries, home-made ice cream and sorbet, there’s even annual, perennial, and fresh-cut flowers.
also joining the farmers and vendors are fine artists selling and showing their wares, and musicians playing acoustic tunes .
if you are an artist or musician and you’re intersted in participating, feel free to contact us through our blog or website.

We survived!
This was a very long weekend. Friday we had our art opening at Redtree gallery, Saturday we had concerts in the park, and sunday we helped put on a fund raising event for the Sayler Park Arts council. All these events went soooooooo well! We just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who came out to any of these.
So here is an update I promised last week of the abstract painting I am working on. Its even gone a step further from this stage. Enjoy!
